Volusia County ECHO Committee to Score Grant Applications

The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historic, and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) Advisory Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, in the County Council Chambers of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W. Indiana Ave., DeLand. The committee will conduct the meeting as a grant review panel to score the 2026 grant applications. Applications receiving a score of 80 or above will be recommended to the Volusia County Council for final approval.

The following applications, which total $13,144,290 in request funding, will be reviewed:

  • City of Ormond Beach Sports - Complex Softball Quad Field Improvements: $1,000,000
  • City of Holly Hill - Ross Point Heritage Park & Scenic Observation Pier: $1,000,000
  • City of Daytona Beach - Harvey Avenue Boardwalk Extension & Beach Access Improvements: $400,000
  • Museum of Arts & Sciences - The Brown Public Site Amenities: $2,500,000
  • City of Port Orange - Willow Run Park Improvements: $2,000,000
  • Volusia Flagler Family YMCA - Port Orange Family YMCA Playground Project: $100,000
  • Marine Discovery Center Inc. - Phase IV Project (Education Center and Dock): $1,019,290
  • City of Edgewater - Edgewater New Boat Ramps & Amenities: $2,500,000
  • Conservation Florida Inc. - D Ranch Preserve Nature Center: $2,500,000
  • City of DeBary - Community Park Splash Pad Project: $125,000

The agenda packet, including the applications of prospective grantees, may be found at ECHO's website, www.volusia.org/echo. Residents unable to attend may listen to the live audio stream on the program's website.

Written comments regarding the agenda and applications may be emailed to jmarcum@volusia.gov or by letter to Jill Marcum, 123 W. Indiana Ave., Room 200, DeLand, FL 32720. Comments received by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, will be presented to the committee and become part of the public record. Please include your name, address, and "ECHO Advisory Committee public participation" in your correspondence.
